We are pleasure seekers, we human lot. We are lovers at heart. We want to find our tribes. We want to love our work. We want to feel good. We are MADE for LOVE. We ARE love. We are magically alive and full of the energy of the cosmos. For all we know, this might just be our one and only life as human beings upon this delicious planet.
So why do we reject the notion of a calling, so often? It’s too late, too hard, too far.
It’s not. As children, we mistakenly listened to the misguided and the lost. We asked them how to find our way, if it could be done, if we had permission not knowing that they themselves were lost, in the dark, lonely, and sad. We listened when they said… No.
Through these early teachers we believed it couldn’t be done, that a very few found love, a calling, a tribe, purpose, abundance, and fulfilment. Somehow, this purpose, this reason for being, would be called a “dream”, a wishy-dishy unfulfilled longing.
What could you do if you knew you could not fail? reads the magnet on the refrigerator. My heart dances joyfully whenever I read this. Might it be that our hearts are our truest compass? Might our hearts revel in the truth of fearlessness, of hope, of trust?
If it is your calling, if it is something that brings you joy, then you cannot fail. It will take great courage, great strength, great persistance, tenacity, and unwavering belief. But the truth is that it can be done. Lean back. Trust in invisible hands to give you wings.
And do what you were born to do.
You will find your tribe of fellow quest seekers. Doors of opportunity will present themselves for you to walk through.
I find myself saying this to you, as these are words I need to hear. Out of a desire to live by example, I am making bold, brave choices, listening to my heart, and, in spite of all challenges, taking giant leaps of faith.
I am a tightrope walker hoping you will join me.
Xo.
